The secluded cove of Cala Carbo is a hidden gem on the south west coast of the island. Popular with locals as it is still relatively untouched this beautiful beach is surrounded by rocky, pine clad hills. The water is a clear and the rocky coastline make it a great spot for snorkeling.
WHEN TO GO
This beautiful cove is popular with locals as it is usually less crowded even during the summer months. It’s secluded position means it can get warm during the peak hours of the day so arrive early and get a sun lounger with a parasol or come for a delicious lunch and stay for the afternoon.
There are two restaurants beachside at Cala Carbo. Chringuito Playa Cala Carbo and the latest addition La Sardinia Loca (‘The crazy sardine’) both offering delicious seafood and paella dishes. It can get busy at the weekends with locals so best to book ahead.
From San Antonio and San Jose follow the signs to Cala Vadella, then onwards to Cala Carbo. There is parking at the end of the road before the beach but arrive early.
