Sa Caleta

Sa Caleta

Sa Caleta

Sa Caleta, also known as Es Bol Nou, is instantly recognisable due to its bright red clay rocks that frame the cove and that perfectly contrast against the turquoise waters. With shallow waters and rocky seabeds this picturesque cove is an ideal location for families and for those looking to enjoy some snorkeling. The high cliff make for a windbreak which turns it into the perfect sun trap and in the height of summer, it is best to take shade and have a long lunch in a restaurant close by. It is a beach that is popular with locals and less frequented by tourists and the rustic fishermen’s sheds line the bay give it even more charm.

WHEN TO GO

Due to Sa Caleta’s protected position, it can get very hot with little to no breeze from early afternoon. Try hitting the beach either before or head down late afternoon and watch the red rocks change colour as the sunsets.

WHERE TO EAT

Just 200m from the shoreline is Sa Caleta restaurant with a delicious menu of traditional Spanish dishes including fresh fish and paella. It is a popular destination for locals and is open all year round.
